PV Sindhu defeated world number-6 Han Yu of China 21-13, 14-21 and 21-12.
Olympic medallist PV Sindhu made a brilliant comeback after the break and reached the semi-finals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 badminton tournament.
Sindhu defeated China’s Han Yu 21-13, 14-21, 21-12 in the quarterfinals played on Saturday.
At the same time, she did not participate in the Uber Cup and Thailand Open before this. Sindhu, the fifth seed of the tournament, last won the title at the 2022 Singapore Open.
Sindhu won the first game easily
Sindhu took the lead from the start in the first game and easily defeated the Chinese player 21-13.
Han Yu made a comeback in the second game
Han Yu made a brilliant comeback in the second game and won easily by defeating Sindhu 21-14.
Sindhu was aggressive in the third game
After losing the second game, Sindhu was seen playing aggressively from the beginning in the third game. She easily won this game 21-12. With this, she won this match as well and reached the semi-finals.
Defeated Yoo Jin Sim in the pre-quarterfinals
Earlier, Sindhu had secured a berth in the quarterfinals by defeating world number 34 player Yu Jin Sim of Korea 21-13, 12-21, 21-14 in a match that lasted 59 minutes in the pre-quarterfinals. On Wednesday, she defeated Scotland’s Christy Gilmore in straight games in the first round of the tournament played in Kuala Lumpur. She defeated Gilmore 21-17, 21-16.
Ashmita Chaliha lost
India’s other female player Ashmita Chaliha lost to China’s Zhang Yi Man in the quarterfinals. The Chinese player defeated her 21-10, 21-15.
