If we look at the politics of the Gandhi family till now, the party chief has always run the country’s politics from Amethi or Rae Bareli. These two seats are also considered lucky for the family.

According to party sources, first mother Sonia explained to Rahul that UP is very important for Congress. Therefore, he should keep Rae Bareli with him. Behind Rahul’s consent to stay in Rae Bareli is mother Sonia’s emotional appeal in which she said, ‘I am handing over my son to you.’

Apart from Sonia, sister Priyanka and brother-in-law Robert Vadra also explained that the victory in Rae Bareli is big in the sense that the family has also regained the lost seat of Amethi. Rahul got a bigger victory in Rae Bareli than Wayanad. In such a situation, if he leaves Rae Bareli, it will send a wrong message in UP.

Not only this, the head of the Gandhi family has always done politics from UP. Father Rajiv Gandhi contested elections from Amethi and great grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru from Allahabad. Rae Bareli is the seat of his mother, grandmother Indira and grandfather Feroze Gandhi.
