A campaign was launched today against single-use plastic in Bhadohi under the leadership of District Program Manager Neha Kapoor. Food and Sanitation Inspector Mithilesh Kumar and Tax Superintendent Ashok Kumar were also present. Under the campaign, 2.500 kg of banned plastic was seized.

This campaign was run in Ahmedganj Ghazia Nagar Palika Parishad. The banned single use plastic was checked at the cart and readymade shops. This action of Nagar Palika Parishad created a ruckus there. Those who had banned plastic started removing and adding it. Some even left the place with their carts. However, during the checking in the campaign, the team confiscated 2.500 kg of banned plastic. A fine of Rs. 1800 was collected.

District Program Manager Neha Kapoor said that banned single-use plastic will be checked in future by running campaigns. Despite this, if banned plastic is found with any shopkeeper, action will be taken against him.

During checking, emphasis was laid on eco-friendly bags

Food and sanitation inspector of Nagar Palika Parishad Mithilesh Kumar instructed all shopkeepers not to use single-use plastic. It has been banned. Both its sale and use are prohibited. He told the shopkeepers about the ill-effects of single-use plastic. He also emphasized on eco-friendly bags. He said that customers visiting the shop should be encouraged to bring bags.

During the campaign against single-use plastic, Municipal Council employees including Revenue Inspector Anil Yadav, Pradeep Maurya, Belal Ahmed Khan, Sunny, Saheb Alam and Sewalal were prominently present.
