The water level of Ganga in Ghazipur is increasing rapidly. While the water level of Ganga was increasing at the rate of 7 centimetres per hour till last night, this speed has decreased to 4 centimetres per hour since this morning. At present, the water level of Ganga in Ghazipur is dangerous.

District disaster expert Ashok Rai said that the water level of Ganga till 8 am today is 62.700 meters. The water level in Ghazipur is 63.105 meters.
Irrigation Department’s XEN Rajendra Prasad said that the water level is increasing at the rate of 4 centimetres per hour since morning. He said that due to heavy rains in Bundelkhand and water released from dams, the Ganga will see a surge in Ghazipur in the next few days. He said that very soon the Ganga will cross the danger point in Ghazipur, but after that the water will start decreasing.
Due to rising water level, flood water has come at two places on Nagdilpur Gahmar bypass road of Revatipur. Due to which traffic is affected. Apart from this, water has also come on various roads of Nagdilpur, Hasanpura, Biraupur, Nasirpur of the area. Hundreds of acres of crops have been submerged in the area due to flood water.
The water level of Ganga continues to rise. People are looking worried as water has reached the banks of Semra-Shivrayakapura Ganga bank of Muhammadabad.
