Let us tell you what is the whole matter Approval of Rs 17 lakh 46 thousand was received for the construction of Panchayat building under the National Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in the year 2019-20 in Gauri Buzurg village of Gauri Bazar development block of the district. The complaint was that both of them had jointly constructed the Gram Panchayat building on private land.
The DM had ordered an investigation in this regard. In the investigation, the then village head Lalmati Devi and the then secretary and currently ADO Panchayat of Rudrapur Ambika Prasad have been found jointly guilty of misusing Rs 10 lakh 46 thousand.
The then village head and secretary had misused government funds worth Rs 10.46 lakh while constructing the Panchayat building on the land of tenant Sonu Yadav, son of late Chauthi Yadav, Santraj Yadav, Suresh Yadav and Buddhiram etc., adjacent to the Gram Sabha land.
DM Divya Mittal has ordered recovery of Rs 5 lakh 23 thousand each as penalty and interest from the then village head and the then secretary.
