The bike rider fell into the drain after colliding with the culvert built on the drain under Puranapul outpost in Sarnath, Varanasi, due to which one youth died on the spot and another youth got injured. When the police reached the information and sent the body for post-mortem, the injured were sent to the hospital by Pandit Deenday.

Young man fell into 10 feet deep drain
Local people told that the accident happened last night at around 2:30 am. 6 to 7 youths on three to four bikes were racing among themselves at high speed towards Puranapul towards Ashapur. Meanwhile, a young man riding a Pulsar collided with a culvert on the left side about 200 meters before the old bridge post and fell into a 10 feet deep drain.
The bike fell under the bridge while racing.
One youth died and the other is undergoing treatment.
Police said that Surya Chauhan (21), father of Rajan, resident of Bajardiha police station Bhelupur, who was driving the bike, died on the spot. At the same time, the other youth sitting on the bike, Makhan (19), resident of Ramlila Maidan, Khojwan Bhelupur, was seriously injured. With the help of local people, the police sent him to Pandit Deendayal Hospital for treatment.

Accident happened while racing among themselves
ACP Sarnath Atul Anjan said that at around 2:30 in the night, youths were racing among themselves on three to four motorcycles. Meanwhile, a bike fell into a deep drain, due to which a young man died on the spot. The dead body was taken into custody and the relatives of the deceased were informed. The matter is being investigated.
