Lord Valmiki’s birth anniversary was celebrated with pomp at the Chhath site on the banks of Rapti river in Dumariyaganj, Siddharthnagar. Special worship of Lord Valmiki was done on this occasion. In which Valmiki Samaj and others also participated. There was a lot of enthusiasm in Valmiki society on this birth anniversary.

In this program organized under the aegis of Dharma Raksha Manch, puja, birth anniversary, felicitation ceremony and mass banquet were organized. The program was started by former MLA Raghavendra Pratap Singh. Who garlanded the picture of Maharishi Valmiki and worshiped him. During this, 265 people of Valmiki community of Dumariyaganj assembly constituency were honored by giving them Angavastra and booklet of Sunderkand lesson.
We can build a better society
Former MLA Raghavendra Pratap Singh said that people of all sections of society celebrated Valmiki Jayanti together with happiness. He described the life of Lord Valmiki as a source of inspiration and said that the messages given by him give a new direction to the society. By adopting the ideals of Maharishi Valmiki we can build a better society.
Taking aim at the Samajwadi Party, he said that earlier during their rule, there was a ban on celebrating Janmashtami of Lord Krishna. But now the same people are roaming from temple to temple because they have realized the power of Ram devotees.
