Hearing the words of the accused, the police swung into action and immediately the regional police reached the spot. When the police reached the accused’s house, they found the woman’s dead body lying on her bed and the accused was sitting there. The police conducted Panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem and arrested the accused.

The marriage took place 16 years ago

Irfan, a resident of Asif Bagh Niwari of Rorawar police station area, was married to Rabia (45), a resident of Nagla Bhika of Hathras, 16 years ago. Irfan and Rabia also have three children and they all lived together. Irfan used to do scrap work.

The incident took place on the night of 18 October. There was a dispute going on between the husband and wife regarding selling the plot. On the day of the incident, the accused husband had earlier left his three children at the house of his brother living in the neighborhood. After this he started quarreling with his wife. When she did not agree, the accused murdered her.

She was not selling the plot, that’s why she killed her.

After the incident, the police reached the spot, brought the accused husband Irfan with them to the police station and started interrogation. On which the accused told that he used to do scrap work. These days he needed money and there were two plots of 50-50 yards in his wife’s name.

He was constantly asking his wife to sell a plot and give him the money. But Rabia was not ready to sell the plot. Even before the incident, he was talking about selling the plot, but Rabia did not agree and started abusing him. Due to which he got angry and killed Rabia.

Mother’s side made serious allegations

The woman was a resident of Hathras. On receiving information about the murder, people from her maternal side also came to Aligarh and lodged a complaint with the police. People from her maternal side have alleged that Rabia was murdered by three people together, but the police has arrested only one. He also alleged that the police made him write the complaint as per his wish and got his original complaint changed.

SP City Mrigang Shekhar Pathak said that the accused had killed his wife over a property dispute. The matter is being investigated and further action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge in the investigation.
