Shravasti District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi greeted the people of the district on the holy festival of Diwali and said that everyone should be alert about safety and celebrate the festival with love and brotherhood. He said, “May the festival of Diwali bring the message of happiness and prosperity to every citizen of Shravasti.” Referring to the religious scriptures, the District Magistrate said that Diwali started with the return of Lord Ram, Lakshman and Mata Janaki to Ayodhya, when the townspeople welcomed them by lighting lamps from every house. Diwali is celebrated as the festival of lights, decorated with lamps, candles and lights.

At the same time, Superintendent of Police Ghanshyam Chaurasia also congratulated the citizens on Diwali and appealed to celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly manner. He said that the happiness of Diwali should be shared with the helpless people and ensure that the sentiments of any community are not hurt.

Chief Development Officer Anubhav Singh described Diwali as a symbol of new energy, prosperity and peace for the people of the district. He said, “May this festival bring happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life and bring health and light to their lives.”
