An Indian lawyer has been bashed for bragging about his journey on an Emirates flight. He recently dropped a post on LinkedIn, claiming that he had flown first class on the Dubai-based airline. Shashank Agarwal who is a partner at a legal firm as per his bio shared a picture from inside the flight with the caption, “Heading home. Always First Class.” He was captured watching a movie on the in-flight entertainment system. Once it surfaced on the internet, many felt Agarwal was just showing off his luxurious lifestyle.
An eagle-eyed Redditor was quick to notice that Agarwal himself liked his post on LinkedIn. Taking a dig at the lawyer, the user sarcastically wrote, “Let me like my own obligatory first-class post.” It led Agarwal to take down his post from the employment-focused platform.
It, however, was not the end of the story. Agarwal later posted another picture on LinkedIn, claiming it to be from his recent journey on an Emirates flight. “Always First. Emirates and beyond life.” A meal and a premium water bottle were placed on the tray table wrapped with a white cover. His plate was filled with a few sandwiches and a drink was served in a glass.
Agarwal was not spared this time as well. The Redditor who criticised the lawyer for his initial post shared, “The so-called first-class regular strikes again.” Many other users jumped into the discussion, questioning the authenticity of the picture.
Agarwal removed his second post from LinkedIn and during an interaction with Hindustan Times, claimed that the viral photo was not from his flight. “Factually incorrect,” he said as per the outlet.
Redditors did not like the way Agarwal was patting his own back. One of them said, “From my experience, any individual who brags about flying in first class is usually the cheap one.” “Bragging about a dry Sandwich,” quipped another. About the lawyer, one said, “I love how he liked his own pictures.”
A user shared, “I witnessed the horrific experience of a guy showing off to his female companion about what an experienced 1st-class traveller he was on a Qatar A380, it was utterly nauseating. I did enjoy the moment somewhat later when he had to ask the cabin crew for help because he couldn’t work out how to operate his table, though.”
A person took it as a “daily reminder that most posts on LinkedIn now are written by insecure, aspiring wannabes who likely spend their free time watching TikTok videos about how to appear rich.” The Reddit post has already garnered hundreds of upvotes.
