In Bareilly, Vaishnavi, a newly married woman, has lodged a complaint at the SSP office, alleging threat to her and her husband’s life from her father and brother. The woman alleged that her father and brother were of domineering nature and being angry with her love marriage, they started harassing her and her in-laws.

Wanted to marry an elderly person for money
While talking to the media, Chandannagar resident Vaishnavi revealed that her father had fixed her marriage with an elderly man out of greed for money. When he protested, he was beaten and locked in the room. Somehow, finding a chance, she ran away from home and married her lover in the Arya Samaj temple.
Attack and threat on in-laws
Vaishnavi told that after marriage, her family members beat up her husband and in-laws and threatened to kill them. He said, “I am an adult and I have married of my own free will. Now I want to live with my husband, but my family members are enemies of my and my husband’s life.”
Demand for security from SSP
The newly married woman has reached the SSP office and demanded security for her husband and in-laws. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police have started investigation.
Love marriage became a cause of dispute in the family
This case highlights the family’s opposition to love marriage and the controversy related to it in the society. Police have said that the safety of the newlywed and her husband will be ensured and action will be taken against the culprits.
