Science popularization and communication program organized by District Science Club in Jaunpur was concluded at Gulabi Devi Girls Inter College, Kanhaipur on Friday. In the programme, essays, slogans, models, posters and speeches on the topic of scientific awareness towards superstition were presented.

The program was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission member Prof. R. N. Tripathi along with other special guests garlanded the statue of Mother Saraswati and lit the lamp. The school children welcomed all the guests with Saraswati Vandana and welcome song.

Children showed amazing talent in the competition In the speech competition, Lovely Singh (Co-operative Inter College, Meharwa) stood first, while Bhumi Dubey (Gulabi Devi Girls Inter College) and Shivam Maurya (Government Inter College, Meharwa) jointly stood second. Varsha Vishwakarma (Government Inter College) stood first in the slogan competition.

Iqra Amin (Sajida Girls Inter College) stood first in the poster competition, while Shivraj (Gulabi Devi Inter College) stood first in the model competition. All the winners were awarded certificates and mementos.

Appeal to stay away from superstition Chief guest Prof. R. N. Tripathi said in his address, “Science is based on truth and testing. Superstition is a hindrance in the development of society and nation. We have to promote scientific thinking in the society.” He praised the District Science Club and encouraged all the participants for their efforts.

The program was conducted by Vipanesh Kumar Srivastava. Many teachers, students and dignitaries were present on this occasion.
