The Kapoor family, including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor, took a private jet to Delhi to personally invite PM Narendra Modi to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival.
The Kapoor family was spotted at the airport.
Raj Kapoor, fondly known as the “Showman of Bollywood,” has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with timeless hits that continue to resonate with audiences. In honour of his 100th birth anniversary, his family is gearing up for a grand celebration by showcasing 10 of his iconic films across 40 cities and 135 cinemas in India. The screenings, scheduled from December 13 to December 15, 2024, will take place in state-of-the-art venues like PVR-Inox and Cinepolis cinemas, offering audiences a nostalgic cinematic experience.
Adding to the excitement, the Kapoor family, including Ranbir Kapoor and wife Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor with husband Saif Ali Khan, and Neetu Kapoor, were spotted jetting off in a private plane to Delhi to extend a personal invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Raj Kapoor Festival.
Alia stunned in a red saree, perfectly complemented by Ranbir in a classic black bandhgala suit. Kareena dazzled in a red salwar suit, while Saif looked sharp in a white kurta churidar paired with a beige Nehru jacket. Neetu Kapoor exuded elegance in an off-white salwar suit. The family paused to smile for the paparazzi as they stepped out of their luxury cars, making their way to the private terminal. Karisma Kapoor also accompanied them. Check out the video here:
The festival will feature Raj Kapoor’s most celebrated works, spanning almost four decades including including – Aag (1948), Barsaat (1949), Awaara (1951), Shree 420 (1955), Jagte Raho (1956), Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai (1960), Sangam (1964), Mera Naam Joker (1970), Bobby (1973) and Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985).
Earlier, reflecting on the special occasion, Ranbir Kapoor had said, “We take immense pride in being members of the Raj Kapoor family. Our generation stands on the shoulders of a giant whose films captured the spirit of their time and gave a voice to the common man over decades. His timeless stories continue to inspire, and this festival is our way of honoring that magic and inviting everyone to experience his legacy on the big screen. See you at the movies!” In a gesture befitting this milestone, movie tickets will be priced at just Rs 100 across all participating cinemas.
