Manchester United slumped to yeat another defeat in the Premier League as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Wolves at the Molineux on Boxing Day to leave new head coach Ruben Amorim reeling in the 14th place in the table ahead of the side’s final fixture for the calender year 2024 against Newcastle United on the 31st.

United, who went down to a third straight defeat across all competitions on Thurday, need to pick up wins to buy some time to work on the tactical side of the game under Amorim, the Portuguese boss opined after the defeat.

When quizzed about how long it would take for the side to adapt to the 39-year-old’s methods of play, Amorim refused to put a timeline on the side’s required improvements and said he’d rather take it on a day-to-day basis.

“I have no idea. No idea. Instead of me trying to understand how much time it will take, just day by day,” Amorim said.

“Improving, trying to see the videos, using every minute of training and trying to win some points because it’s really important at this moment,” he aded.

“At this moment, we just have to survive and win some time to work on the team,” the 39-year-old continued.

Amorim expressed that he was aware of the challenges ahead of him when taking up the high-profile job as the Red Devils’ gaffer and stated that the side need to work hard to survive the tide at the moment before the unit start thinking about revival of the side’s glorious past.

“We already knew it. I start this job and you start with the team, a new idea, without any time to train, with a lot of games, tough games,” Amorim added.

“The idea needs time,” the Portuguese boss added.

“I said it before to you guys that this will be a tough moment and we are far from the end of this moment and that’s it,” he opined.
