A teenage girl, resident of a village in the police station area, was lured away by one of her relatives on December 19 last year. The girl’s father had also filed a case. After failing to find the girl even after several days, the girl’s elder brother committed suicide by hanging himself from a Beri tree on January 2 due to social stigma.
After this there was deep anger against the police in the village. The Halka in-charge was also suspended for negligence. The police had become active after the incident and formed two teams and started raiding to arrest the accused. The police arrested the accused near Sherpur Saraiya Bhatte and also recovered the girl from the place indicated by him. The police have sent the accused to jail.
