Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Bad News’ has been released in theatres today. Vicky Kaushal, Amy Virk and Tripti Dimri have worked together for the first time in this film. The length of this film is 2 hours 22 minutes. Dainik Bhaskar has given this film 2.5 stars out of 5.

How is the story of the film?

The film begins with Ananya Panday’s cameo. She comes to meet Saloni Bagga (Tripti Dimri) to know her success story of winning Merika, one of the biggest chef awards in the world. Saloni tells how she met Akhil Chadda (Vicky Kaushal). No sooner do they get married, they get divorced. Saloni Bagga feels that her dream of becoming a ‘Meraki Star’ chef will not be fulfilled after marriage.

Saloni moves out of Delhi to another city to fulfill her dream. Where she meets Gurbir Pannu (Ammy Virk). The new twist in the story comes when Saloni spends quality time with Gurbir and Akhil in the same night and gets pregnant. Saloni is confused about who is the father of the child.

Saloni asks both of them to do a paternity test. After the test result comes, it is revealed that it is a case of heteropaternal superfecundation. There are two babies in the womb, one of whom is Akhil’s and the other is Gurbir’s. Now, to see what happens next, you will have to watch the film.

How is the acting of the star cast?

Vicky Kaushal is the real star of this film. He keeps the audience engaged till the end with his body language and dialogue delivery. But if we look at his previous releases, this character is very weak in comparison to them. The chemistry between Tripti Dimri, who became a national crush with the film ‘Animal’, and Vicky Kaushal is amazing, but she looks weak in the emotional scenes.

Amy Virk has got a big chance in this film, but he does not fit in the triangle love story opposite Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri. The comedy scenes between him and Tripti do not make one laugh at all. Neha Dhupia and Sheeba Chaddha have tried to do justice to their respective roles. But Neha Dhupia has not got the right screen space.

How is the direction of the film?

This film was being called a sequel to the film ‘Good News’ released in 2019. But this film is not a sequel. On the same lines, it can be called a formula film. In this film, Vicky Kaushal is in place of Akshay Kumar and Amy Virk is in place of Diljit Dosanjh.

The story of the film is slow from the beginning. The screenplay of the film could have been better. An attempt has been made to tell a mediocre story by adding sex, cheap jokes and a little emotional drama in the film. Some scenes of the film are very boring. The audience does not laugh even in the comedy scenes.

How is the music of the film?

Apart from ‘Tauba Tauba’, there is no other song that sticks to our tongue. The background music of the film is also normal. At many places, music from Karan Johar’s films plays in the background.

Final Verdict, should we watch it or not?

This film neither entertains nor gives any special message. The songs and dialogues of the film are mostly in Punjabi. If you know passable Punjabi then you can ‘enjoy’ the film without any logic.
