Now e-stamps can also be obtained from post offices in Uttar Pradesh. It has been started as a pilot project under the agreement between the Department of Posts and Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited. Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of State in Uttar Pradesh Government, launched the e-stamp service at Varanasi Kachari Sub Post Office. On this occasion, he himself symbolically purchased the e-stamp from the post office counter and Postmaster General of Varanasi Zone Krishna Kumar Yadav presented him the e-stamp. With this, sale of e-stamps started in identified post offices of 11 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
