Nayanthara's film Annapurni in trouble: Controversy started over calling Lord Ram a non-vegetarian, complaint filed against the makers

Young actress Nayanthara's film Annapurni has been released on Netflix, however, the film has been surrounded by controversies since its release. In a scene of the film, Lord Shri Ram was described as a non-vegetarian, due to which a complaint has been filed against the filmmakers for hurting religious sentiments.

Former Shiv Sena leader Ramesh Solanki has filed a complaint against the makers of the film Annapurni in Mumbai on 6 January. He alleges that the makers have hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community by insulting Lord Shri Ram.

Apart from the complaint, Ramesh Solanki has also strongly criticized the film on social media platform X (earlier Twitter). He has written, 'I have filed a complaint against anti Hindu ji and anti Hindu Netflix. At a time when the whole world is celebrating the consecration of Lord Shri Ram Temple, this anti-Hindu film Annapurni has been released on Netflix. Which has been produced by Zee Studio, Naad Studio and Trident Arts.

Further, he has also mentioned some controversial scenes of the film. He wrote, 'A Hindu priest's daughter offers namaz before making biryani. Love Jihad has been promoted in the film. Farhan, while feeding meat to the actress, says that Lord Shri Ram was also a non-vegetarian.

He further said, 'Netflix and Zee Studio have deliberately made this film to hurt Hindu sentiments. I request Mumbai Police, Maharashtra HMO to file a complaint against this film which hurts religious sentiments.

Let us tell you that the film Annapurni was released on 1 December 2023, which is now being streamed on Netflix. Nayanthara is in the lead role in the film. In the film, she has played the role of Annapurni, the daughter of a temple priest, who cooks non-veg to fulfill her dream of becoming a chef.
