Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting joined the team’s camp for the IPL only last week. During this Ponting said that, I have spoken to Rishabh. We hope he joins us this season. I would love to have him with me for all the home matches. His presence in our dugout and changing room will be special for the team.
Only Captain Warner will open for the team
Delhi Capitals bought David Warner for Rs 6.25 crore and he will lead the team in IPL 2023. While all-rounder Akshar Patel will be the vice-captain of the team.
Ponting made it clear that only Warner would open the innings. Ponting said, I do not want Warner to bat at number four. Australia legend Ponting said that after three years we will be traveling for home and away games. Travel will be tough during the IPL and looking forward to getting a chance to play at different venues. This adds to the excitement of the tournament.
