The film flopped due to Salman’s hit-and-run case: Amish Patel on ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’, Bhansali advised him to retire

Salman and Ameesha worked together for the first time in ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’. This was the ninth film of Ameesha’s career.

Negative news was going on about Salman
In an interview to Bollywood Hungama, Amisha said, ‘Ye Hai Jalwa was one of David Dhawan’s best films. Salman looked very handsome in this film and music etc. everything was good. But at the same time, negative news about Salman Khan’s hit and run case started running in the media, which affected the film.

Salman Khan was arrested in 2002 in a hit and run case on September 28, two months after the release of the film ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’.

‘Mangal Pandey’ should not have been rejected so badly
Apart from this, Ameesha also talked about the flop of Aamir Khan starrer ‘Mangal Pandey’. He said that there was no need to reject ‘Mangal Pandey’ so badly, the way the audience rejected it. In this film, Amisha played the role of a widow named Jwala, who was about to commit sati.

‘Mangal Pandey’ was released in 2005. Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee were in the lead roles in the film.

Bhansali wrote a letter after watching ‘Gadar’
Ameesha also told that after watching ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ in 2001, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali wrote a letter to her. In this letter, Bhansali asked him to retire.

Bhansali had said that he has achieved everything from the first two films of his career which people are not able to achieve in their entire career.
