Chennai Super Kings made it to the playoffs by winning the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL). CSK beat Delhi Capitals by a huge margin of 77 runs at their home ground. Chennai’s Mahish Teekshana missed a hat-trick in the last over of the match.

1. Conway hit 1000th six of the season
The 1000th six of the 16th season of IPL came off the bat of Chennai Super Kings opener Devon Conway. Fourth ball of the second over, Lalit Yadav bowled a fuller length on the off stump. Conway came forward and hit the front side for a six.
impact: Devon Conway got Chennai off to a strong start by hitting big shots in the powerplay. He played an innings of 87 runs and also shared a 141-run partnership with Rituraj Gaikwad.

Warner played the shot over extra covers and ran for a single. The fielder picks up the ball and throws it towards the non-striker’s end.
The throw did not hit the stumps and was overthrown. The ball went to Ajinkya Rahane, so Warner came out of the pitch to take another run. Warner took his steps forward repeatedly, but did not run. Rahane then made a throw towards the stumps, again the overthrow happened and this time the ball landed in the hands of Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja started running towards the stumps, while Warner started waving his bat. Jadeja often waves the bat like a sword after completing his fifty. Jadeja understood the joke of the batter and went back to fielding laughing.
impact: Deepak Chahar sent Phil Salt and Riley Russo to the pavilion on the next 2 balls of this moment. Delhi lost 3 wickets in the powerplay and David Warner stood alone at one end in a big chase of 224 runs.

Lalit Yadav is caught at covers. Teekshana bowls the fourth ball to Kuldeep Yadav on a good length. The ball hits Kuldeep’s pads and he is out LBW.
Fifth ball Teekshana bowls to Chetan Sakariya on good length. Ball hits the pads, CSK appeals, but umpire gives not out. CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni took the review, but the review also showed Batter not out and Teekshana’s hat-trick could not be completed.
Tikshana bowled the last ball on a good length, the ball again hit the pad of the batsman, this time the umpire declared the batsman LBW. Sakaria took the review, replays showed that the ball had clipped outside the leg stump, thus saving the batsman from being LBW.
