This impressive video involves an Instagram content creator, known as DIY Chachi aka Shweta Mahadik, cleverly transforming a Parle-G wrapper into a stylish sling bag.
Carrying a side bag has become a practical trend among men and women, offering convenience for essential items. While the internet is filled with innovative DIY ideas, many of them gain viral attention for their practicality. One such impressive video involves an Instagram content creator, known as DIY Chachi aka Shweta Mahadik, who cleverly transformed a Parle-G wrapper into a stylish sling bag. The video featuring this craft has captured widespread attention. Just like this, her previous innovative ideas have also garnered online attention. Soon after the recent video went viral, her comments section was flooded with praise for her unique approach.
In the video, Shweta shows her DIY skills by reusing an empty Parle-G Biscuits packet. Using scissors, she skillfully divides the packet into two and attaches it between the transparent plastic sheets bordered with black thread. She then wraps the packet between them and expertly sews the layers together using a machine. Enhancing the design, she adds a red cloth to the bag’s border and attaches a chain to create a stylish sling bag. To complete the transformation, Shweta adds smaller Parle-G biscuit packets into the bag. Sharing the video, she wrote, “I love quirky stuff,” while the overlay text reads, “Eat the biscuit and create quirky fashion.”
Ever since DIY Chachi aka Shweta Mahadik dropped the video, it has gone viral and received over 21 Lakh views. Her innovative idea behind reusing the Parle-G Biscuits packet into a stylish sling bag has resonated with viewers, and people have shared positive feedback for her.

Interestingly, she came up with the idea of making a Parle-G sling bag after fashion brand Balenciaga decided to launch their handbags, inspired by a pack of chips. This unique line of bags debuted as part of the 2023 Spring/Summer collection during Paris Fashion Week. The bags resembled various flavours of Chips, including original, spicy, and salt and vinegar.
The company showed great attention to detail by adding a silver lining on the bag’s interior, similar to what you’d find in a packet of chips. Surprisingly, Balenciaga sold the bag for a whopping price of $1,500 (approximately Rs 1 lakh).
